James Murden is the Managing Director of Kensington New Zealand. He is a specialist in the management of family trusts, foundations and complex multi-jurisdictional structures for high net worth individuals with a particular focus on clients with UK interests.
James worked for a well-known global trust and corporate services provider before moving to Monaco in 2012 to join the team of an independent firm. In 2015 he took up a position as head of the Trust and Corporate department of a leading international law firm in Monaco.
James is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, an IMC member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute having completed their Investment Management Certificate, and a student member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants having completed their Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Business.
Before qualifying as a trust and estate practitioner with Barclays Private Bank in the Isle of Man, James read Ancient History at the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom.
Tim McSweeney

Tim McSweeney is a director of Kensington New Zealand and serves on the board of numerous long established New Zealand trust arrangements.
Tim grew up on Auckland’s North Shore and studied law at Auckland University.
He is an experienced New Zealand solicitor and works closely with high net worth and ultra high net worth families.
Tim travels regularly and enjoys spending time with new and existing clients.
Elena Popova

Elena Popova is the Accounts Manager of Kensington New Zealand. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science Honours Degree and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand since 2007. She became the joint member of the New Zealand and Australia Institute of Chartered Accountants in 2014.
Over the years, she has attained broad accounting experience both in business services and commercial environment. She worked for a Chartered Accounting firm for four years as part of the business services, tax and audit team. In the last eight years, Elena has worked in the commercial environment for a number of iconic New Zealand businesses in senior financial roles. In the recent years, she has also been involved in assisting various individuals worldwide with tax structuring and tax optimisation.
Her main practice areas are in financial and management reporting, financial analysis, statutory accounts under NZ IFRSs, audit, system improvements, financial modelling and tax structuring.
